Head Chef - Banqueting & Production

Yellow 42 are working in partnership with one of our esteemed partners in Perthshire.  Part of a family of hotels they are now seeking a Head Chef for their Production and Banqueting department.

About the role

To lead a dedicated kitchen team, delivering high-quality, consistent food across restaurants, cafés, and events. This is a role with real variety – from private, formal dinners for 5 people to large-scale banquets and events for 500+.

As Head Chef of Production and Banqueting you will oversee the day-to-day running of the production and banqueting kitchen, ensuring smooth operations, high standards, and efficient service delivery. That means everything from menu planning and stock control to rota management and coaching your talented brigade.

What they need from you

  • Banqueting Experience – Essential to have a proven track record running large-scale banquets, conferences, and events as well as private dining.
  • Leadership – Experience as a Head Chef or senior production chef, confident leading, developing and inspiring a diverse kitchen team.
  • Organisation & Time Management – As Head Chef of production and banqueting, you will have the ability to balance multiple priorities while keeping operations smooth and efficient.
  • Meticulous Attention to Detail – From presentation to planning, you set and maintain the highest standards.
  • Operational Knowledge – Essential that you have strong understanding of high-volume food production and menu planning, as a Head Chef of banqueting or in a high-volume production kitchen.
  • Flexibility – Comfortable switching between large events, day-to-day production, and more intimate dining experiences.
  • Financial Acumen – Excellent understanding of financial management, stock control and achieving GP targets.
  • Compliance Management – As Head Chef of Production and Banqueting you will fully comply with HACCP, COSHH, Health and Safety and Food Hygiene regulations.

 

What you’ll get in return

  • £42,000 per annum plus a share of tips (estimated £2,000 per annum).
  • 45 hours per week. It’s not all late nights – this hotel hosts many daytime events, so you’ll enjoy a good balance of shifts.
